From every word to every melody, Glenn Godfrey sings from the heart with nothing short of pure emotion. Born and raised in the town of Harlow, Essex and now residing in the county of Suffolk, Glenn started writing songs for other local singers from the tender age of 13 years old. Over the years, he begun to sing the songs he wrote and with a further push from attending a music course in college - back in his teens - you can hear clearly that his honed his craft.
Glenn Godfrey quickly started gaining momentum and even won a slot on the Main Stage at Brownstock Festival, performing alongside the likes of Tom Odell, Mark Ronson and Professor Green. Writing seems to come easy to this emotion driven songwriter, from the more pop type songs such as “YOU” (with a catchy earworm hook but an underlining tone of being saved by someone), to more ballad like records such as “I WISH” (written about the sudden passing of Glenn Godfrey’s dad), this singer-songwriter seems to capture the essence of those “in the moment” feelings with clarity and displays a no holds barred approach when speaking and singing about them.
2022 brings a whole new, exciting, moody and slightly rocky light to Glenn Godfrey with the single “ARCADE” - written during lockdown, a record that highlights the struggle of being so close to someone that you don’t see the games they are playing, but eventually seeing them for what they are and coming to terms with that realisation. It’s safe to say that the future certainly looks bright for this singer-songwriter, even if the songs come from a darker place.
